About this collection
Old tulips, mostly - rococo, zomerschoon, queen of night, black parrot, estella rijnveld, la belle epoque, and the wild tulipa clusiana. Captions come in script italic: cultivar names for the garden forms, Latin binomials for the species.
Warm white flatters the broken striping on zomerschoon and estella rijnveld; deep black takes queen of night and black parrot almost into the ground itself, so each flower reads as a shape with highlights. At home in a formal sitting room, over a mantel, or beside a china cabinet.
