About this collection

The cold-weather roster. An arctic fox, an ermine, a snowshoe hare, a moose, a musk ox, and a northern cardinal each take a plate, and every one is captioned in script italic, binomial and all.

Warm white reads as snowfield and lets the pale coats blend at the edges; deep black cuts every animal out sharp as a woodblock. Built for a bunk room, the wall over a fireplace, or a ski-house entry - lodge decor that names its species.

The arctic fox makes the natural first buy. The cedar waxwing and common redpoll are good small companions on either side.

  • Matte poster, printed on demand
  • Six sizes, 8x10 up to 24x36 inches
  • Printed reproduction of an illustrated design - sold unframed
  • Every animal wears its winter coat - the arctic fox and ermine in full white.

As captioned on the prints

Vulpes lagopus, Mustela erminea, Lepus americanus, Plectrophenax nivalis, Junco hyemalis, Cardinalis cardinalis, Bombycilla cedrorum, Alces alces, Cervus canadensis, Perisoreus canadensis, Hesperiphona vespertina, Pinicola enucleator, Acanthis flammea, Lepus townsendii, Cygnus columbianus, Ovibos moschatus.
