About this collection
Sixteen mushrooms painted as field-guide plates: porcini and oyster on the familiar end, lion's mane, turkey tail and hen of the woods for the foragers, and the amethyst deceiver, indigo milk cap and scarlet elf cup for the ones nobody believes are real. Each plate carries its Latin binomial in script italic, the way a mycologist's folio would.
Black-ground versions are the dramatic ones - the pale gills and caps glow against the dark, and a row of three reads like a cabinet of curiosities. On warm white they soften into cottage kitchen territory. They hang naturally in kitchens, dining rooms and any room that leans cabin.
The porcini is the classic first pick; foragers tend to build a wall of the ones they have actually found, one plate per season.
