About this collection

Sixteen studies of trees turning: sugar maple at full flame, red oak, sweetgum and sassafras, the clear yellow of aspen, birch and ginkgo, and quieter subjects - a leaf study, Virginia creeper, a larch dropping its needles. Painted as classic botanical plates with the species name in script italic under each.

This is the collection where the warm white ground does the most work - the reds and ambers sit on it like pressed leaves on paper. The black ground turns the same leaves into something moodier, closer to a Dutch still life. Entry halls and dining rooms take them well, alone or in a run of three.

Swap one into a frame you already own in September and the room follows the season; the sugar maple and ginkgo pair - one red plate, one yellow - is the two-print version of fall.

  • Matte poster, printed on demand
  • Six sizes, 8x10 up to 24x36 inches
  • Printed reproduction of an illustrated design - sold unframed
